GHOST Scholarship Program
Young and Fired Up
If you’re a young, motivated, and low-income endurance athlete, I’m offering a new opportunity.
What is it?
This is a fully funded coaching scholarship from an anonymous supporter. They want to pay for the coaching fees for a year of a young, motivated, and low-income endurance athlete. And they don’t want anything in return except for your commitment to the process.
What is coaching with Joe like?
The expectations:
No half-assing. You’re all in, fired up, and willing to do pretty much whatever I tell you to do. If you don’t demonstrate pretty serious commitment, you’re out of the program.
A FULL YEAR. The expectation is that this is a twelve-month commitment. Note that I believe that “commitment” doesn’t mean that either of us can’t part ways before the year is up, but it means that’s a worst case scenario, not a first gut reaction. We’re committing to work through injuries, burn out, communication issues, and all the other shit that can go wrong with a relationship, BEFORE either of us considers ending the relationship.
How you get in:
Be 18-25 years old
Be an established and motivated endurance athlete
Be from a low-income background
Apply for the program here, by the end of the current application period.
Athletes will be selected for the program based on four main criteria:
My estimate of your potential.
My estimate of your financial means
Your ability to communicate and follow directions.
Note: YES, this process isn’t super clear. Some parts of this are based on my hunch of who’s going to CRUSH working with me. IT IS EXTREMELY SUBJECTIVE AND PROBABLY NOT FAIR. If you aren’t willing to accept that this is how the program works, please don’t apply.
